What it’s about

A romantic honeymoon on a private Scottish island. Newlyweds Liam and Laura are hoping for an idyllic break. But, hints at the island’s tragic past, and a sense that they may not be alone after all, may turn this perfect getaway to tragedy.

This is a proper thriller. Two people trapped on an island with an unknown threat. The tension absolutely ramps up from sightings that could be the imagination and through to a very real danger. It reminded me of a good slasher horror flick.

And, the plotting stays away from the obvious. There are discordant moments throughout the first half of the book, the sense that all is not as it appears. This pays off really well in the ending, making for a well-rounded psychological thriller and a really engrossing read.
