The house move is done, but the unpacking is a work in progress. Planning for my office/reading room is underway!
In last week’s post I’d added Pivotal by Nikki Vallance as one I’d start this week, and the eagle-eyed might spot it’s not on my reading, read or to be read sections anymore. I did start it, but after a few chapters I decided it wasn’t for me. I don’t like not finishing books, but having persevered with a couple of ones I didn’t enjoy this year I decided the week of a house move was a good time to give myself permission to cut my losses and give up.
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam A. Stevens on Taking on a World of Words.
The three Ws are:
- What are you currently reading?
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What do you think you’re read next?
Rebel Ideas by Matthew Syed
No progress this week. I’ll hopefully read some this coming week if I can find which box I packed it in!
The Lighthouse Witches by CJ Cooke
Just a few pages into this so I’ll see how it goes.
The Forevers by Chris Whitaker
I loved this. A very well written YA novel about the end of the world from the perspective of teenagers who should have a future to look forward to. My review.
All Her Fault by Andrea Mara
A solid thriller about where the blame lies when a child goes missing. My review.
Next of Kin by Kia Abdullah
Another great courtroom and life drama from Kia Abdullah. The book comes out in early September and I’ll publish my review nearer the time.
People Like Them by Samira Sedira
A long novella or short novel about a family murdered in a rural French village. My review.
The Heights by Louise Candlish
I’m due to read this with online book club Pigeonhole from next Tuesday. Looking forward to seeing what it’s like.
Have you read any of these? Do you have any recommendations for me to add to my TBR list? I’d love to hear from you in the comments.
